MORADABAD SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE
In the district Moradabad at Pakbara, Uttar Pradesh sector specific Special Economic Zone for handicraft products is being developed to provide congenial environment and facilities to Art Metal entrepreneurs to boost the productivity of export-oriented units in accordance with the changing demands of international market. Moradabad SEZ holds the distinction of being one of the first 10 notified special Economic Zones in India.
Advantages
- Under phase one, 469 plots of different sizes have been developed on 421.56 acres of land and all of them have been allotted.
- Relaxation in stamp duty under Section 35 of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899. According to institutional finance tax and registration department, the remit of stamp duty, however, will be subject to certain conditions. The application needs to be submitted with a valid letter of permission issued by the Development Commissioner, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
- Exemptions from various state level taxes and levies, such as Turnover Tax, Mandi Tax, Development Tax and Local Bodies Tax etc. are available as permissible under the U.P. SEZ policy.
- Infrastructure facilities such as development of green-belt to keep the area pollution free, boundary wall, internal development, security system, which includes a fully functional police station, are already in place.
- Being close to Delhi, this SEZ has the distinct advantage of modern transportation facilities as it is close to IGI, New Delhi airport, lCD, Moradabad & express roads of 4 Lane NH No. 24 as well as excellent railways connectivity.
Location
Moradabad is one of the most important commercial towns not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in the whole of North India. Moradabad is situated at a distance of 167 km (104 miles) from the national capital, New Delhi. It is situated in district Moradabad at 6 KM on both sides of Pakbara-Dhingarpur road at 8k.m. milestone of NH-24.
Objectives & Facilities
- This is a sector Special Economic Zone for handicraft products. Provision for infrastructure facilities such as: - greenbelt, boundary wall, internal development, security system, power substation, CETP, inland container depot, design and training center, helipad, school, canteen has been made.
Current Status
- In phase-I, 421.56 acres area has been developed consisting 469 plots. It is proposed to expand this project in phase-II for which 676 acres adjacent land is being acquired.
